About Us
The mission of the Department of Neurobiology is to promote research and teaching that leads to a better understanding of the normal and diseased brain.
The Goldenson Building, named for the family who donated funds toward its realization, was dedicated on October 3, 1994. The inscription etched in the marble reads, "To explore the universe of the brain for the benefit of people everywhere." This building houses the research facilities, classrooms, and administrative offices of the Department of Neurobiology at Harvard Medical School.
The Edward R. and Anne G. Lefler Center for the Study of Neurodegenerative Disorders generously supports the Department with endowed funding for grants, fellowships, an annual symposium and related projects including this web site.
